16th July
The sick lambs are doing much better, now they have been wormed and sheltered from this horrible weather...
I was pleased I managed to roll the fields last night, before the next load of rain..
I have a cunning plan to roll over all the weeds which would weaken them , and then I will mow over them. I am hoping that this may kill a few of them off, so avoiding having to spray the field which we have managed to do for the last 10 years...It was really important that I didn't delay any longer, as the thistles were just about to flower..
We also made a delicious wild berry pie... its was fantastic

We picked all the summer fruit, red currents, raspberries and strawberries
Then Vicci cooked them together, to make a delicious fruit compote. It is sharp, but I added some honey and greek yogurt.

I know we love moaning about the weather, but I really do think we have had our fair share of rain.
They were all in great spirits, and would not let a small thing, like a severe weather warning get in the way their celebrations!
We have a lovely group of people staying at Sutton Mawr today. Russ is getting married today in St Donats Castle.
It was so wet that Pootle had to come to the rescue and drive guests down to the bottom of the drive, where a bus was waiting.
