Great 'doing' day at Sutton Mawr. The sheep all had a pedicure and wormed them. Then ear tagged all the lambs ears.  Nearly finished the cow byre.  Incubated some more eggs.  The first of our chicks hatched this weekend .

Tiger Lily is hanging on to the last minute, so big now its agony to watch!  Hope she has them tonight.

Anyone interested in sausages we are making some on the weekend. Orders please as limited supply.

Dora & Hoggy

Wednesday 9th March

I went to check Stella to find her very restless and wanting lots of fuss, this is not like Stella so sat down beside her to give her a rub and a couple of minutes later her first piglet was out.  She then turned around and promptly had 10 others all of which I was very much in on the action!!!

  • I felt very privaged to be so active I was literally lying along side her rubbing her belly between piglets.  Once it was all over I left her to it and she has made it plain to all to leave her alone with her babes, which is the Stella we are
    all used to!

Tuesday 8th March

Lambs suddenly arrived today!
Couldn't believe it, just got the sheep in to check them over as first lambs were due at the end of the week but before we knew it, two beautiful new additions were here! Mum and lambs doing really well, all tucked up in the barn with an infra red light :)

Monday 7th March

Hoggy the house pig!
Hoggy had to be removed from the litter, due to her skin being ripped very badly after birth. We didn't think she'd survive but bought her in to the house to nurse her. She sleeps on top of the aga, we have to feed her every 2 hours, she's now doing really well! Although, we still have to be careful that she doesnt pick up any infections, we hope she'll rejoin her family shortly. In the meantime, she now believes she is one of the dogs and enjoys running around the kitchen causing chaos!
